Unfavorable Semicircle – YouTube’s Creepiest Channel

The Channel Appears

In 2015, Reddit users began noticing something strange: a YouTube channel named Unfavorable Semicircle was uploading hundreds of videos a day, all with bizarre, cryptic names like:

  • "÷1789"
  • "psa34"
  • "h"
  • "☍"

Each video ranged from a few seconds to hours long. Some had distorted visuals — static, digital decay, glitchy shapes. Others had screeching audio, white noise, or complete silence.

There was no intro. No outro. No creator description.
Just video after video, flooding the channel.

What Was In the Videos?

Reddit investigators and YouTubers started analyzing the content.

They found:

  • Numbers whispered in slowed-down voices
  • Pixelated shapes resembling constellations or symbols
  • One video appeared to feature a distorted human face, stretched and broken
  • Audio bursts of static, inhuman groans, and sometimes binary-like rhythms

Some videos had frames that looked like code, but none led anywhere verifiable.

And all the while — more videos kept coming. Eventually over 77,000 uploads.

Theories Spread Quickly

The internet exploded with speculation.

🧪 1. ARG (Alternate Reality Game)?

Was this a puzzle meant to be solved? If so — who was playing? There was no call to action, no prize, no context.

🤖 2. AI training experiment

Some believed the videos were being used to train machine learning models, using noise and entropy to test perception systems.

Creepy, but plausible.

📡 3. A message to aliens

Others speculated it was a modern “numbers station”, broadcasting coded data — perhaps even for non-human eyes.

🧠 4. Mental illness or obsession

Was it the output of a disturbed mind — someone spilling a personal delusion into video form?

There were no clues in usernames, IPs, or comments.

And Then… It Vanished

In early 2016, after media attention began building, YouTube quietly removed the channel. No reason given. No archive saved.

It was deleted permanently — without explanation.

And just like that, the Unfavorable Semicircle disappeared. No copies. No mirror. Only fragments remain in Reddit threads and obscure archives.

No one has come forward to claim it.
No spin-off game, movie, or art project ever emerged.
It was real. And it was gone.

What Made It So Disturbing?

It didn’t ask you to play.
It didn’t want views.
It just… existed. Inhuman. Cold. And constant.

There’s something terrifying about content that isn’t meant to entertain, inform, or even communicate — just to exist, with endless repetition, and zero acknowledgment of you as the viewer.

Watching the channel felt like staring at a digital void — and sometimes, the void stared back.
